MY READING HABITS

  My reading habits have changed significantly over time. When I was younger, most of the books I read were chosen by my teachers. They were usually novels or textbooks assigned for school, and I read them because it was mandatory. Although some of them were interesting, I did not always feel personally connected to them. As I grew older, I started choosing my own books, and reading became more meaningful and enjoyable. Nowadays, I read different kinds of texts depending on the language. In Spanish (my L1), I enjoy reading novels, short stories, and opinion articles. I feel more emotionally connected when I read in my first language because I easily understand cultural references, humor, and subtle meanings. Reading in Spanish feels natural and relaxing. In English (my L2), I usually read academic texts, news articles, and sometimes short stories.
